Truly, becoming a mom has become my identity. Inside and out. My daughters are literally my blood, sweat and tears. This is something that a lot of moms do not talk about because it sounds silly to say out loud. Losing yourself in motherhood.
Think about it. When was the last time you actually did something for just you? Not the house, not the kids, not the husband; just YOU. I wanted to create a safe space for moms who have given up their identity as a person, for moms to come together and share life hacks. Between the “Mommy, mommy, mommy.. Look at me, look at me, watch this..” episodes; I have to go to work for 40 hours a week, clean the house, make dinner, take the kids to hobbies, take care of the dogs. You may ask, yes my husband and I work as a team; we crush it every morning before we take the kids to daycare. Once that bedtime routine comes around again, they only want mommy. Which is absolutely fine, that’s part of becoming a mom but sometimes… I want to scream and yell and not be judged for it. So…
That Nikki Girl Blog came to be! Welcome to your new homes, mommas! Scream, yell, complain about kids, husbands, houses, jobs… ALL OF IT. Let it out. No judging, “one up-ing”, correcting of any sort. Lets work together and create a revolution.
